2019-10-17 Delegation from the University of Southern Queensland Visited the College

From October 14th to 17th, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University of Southern Queensland in Australia visited Jilin University. Peter Terry, a member of the delegation, Dean of the Graduate School of the University of Southern Queensland in Australia, and a professor of sports psychology, made a special trip to the Physical Education College for inspection and exchange. A symposium was held on the morning of October 16th in the Conference Room 213 on the second floor of the Central Campus gymnasium. More than 30 members of the leadership team of the Physical Education College, faculty, administrators and some graduate students attended the symposium, which was presided over by Qiu Peng, Dean of the Physical Education College.

At the symposium, Qiu Pengfirst expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to Professor Peter Terry for his visit to the Physical Education College during his visit to Jilin University, and introduced the leaders and faculty representatives of the college, and other attendees. Then, he introduced to Professor Peter Terry the development of the Physical Education College in recent years in terms of college profile, student group activities, international exchanges, competitive events, and development goals.

Later, Professor Peter Terry, Dean of the Graduate School of the University of Southern Queensland in Australia, gave a report with the topic of “Mood Profiling in Sport and Exercise” to all the attendees. Professor Peter Terry analyzed the relationship between sports training and mood from the perspective of behavioral performance affecting emotions, emotions affecting behavioral performance, and the interaction between the two, and shared his research results in sports psychology.

Finally, Qiu Peng and members of the leadership team discussed how to promote exchanges and cooperation with the University of Southern Queensland in Australia in the areas of joint undergraduatescultivation, exchange visits of teachers, short-term exchanges of master and doctoral students, and improvement of teachers’ research capabilities. Participating teachers also had in-depth exchanges with Professor Peter Terry on related issues in his research field. The two parties exchanged gifts to consolidate friendship. The symposium concluded successfully in a warm atmosphere.
